How to turn your spare room into a guest bedroom that is welcoming and creates envy from your guests? We have you covered.
1. Start with the bed.
Everything in a guest bedroom revolves around the bed. An upholstered bedhead/ headboard can change the whole feel of the room… select a neutral fabric to provide softness or select a print to create a focal point. The Lily style bedhead/ headboard adds softness to this room while the Honor bedhead/ headboard provides a focal point with a beautiful print. Decide what sort of personality you want the room to take on and select a bedhead/ headboard accordingly. Remember we provide FREE fabric samples if you want to touch and feel the fabric – or come to our Brighton showroom where we have thousands to choose from and can give you 1:1 advice.
2. Select your linen
There is nothing like climbing into a bed with crisp new sheets. Create a hotel feel for your guests. We love the relaxed linen as pictured from Aura (we range this is all sizes and 5 colours) or have a look at our custom made doona covers/ quilt covers. A mattress topper also creates the ‘cloud’ like affect when you climb into bed to replicate the feel of a boutique hotel.
3. Lighting
Do not underestimate the ambience that is created by lighting in a bedroom. Whether these are built in side lights or lamps on side tables, they help create the perfect ambience at night (as well as convenience of not getting out of bed to turn out the light!)
4. Add the homely touches
Don’t forget all the finishing touches that make your guests feel homely. Cushions provide the finishing touches and help create the personality for your room. For a modern home we love the current range of Langdon cushions (http://langdonltd.com.au) with metallic threads which have arrived into our showroom.
A throw across the end of the bed that compliments your bedhead and some fresh flowers add a welcoming & homely feel.
We hope your guests love their bedroom!
